Sam is a supervisee in Clinical Social Work and is working under the supervision of Dave Wriston. Sam earned his Master of Social Work degree from the University of West Florida with a focus on clinical studies. Before he received his Master of Social Work, Sam received a B.S. in Social Work and worked as a family services specialist for the county of Bedford. In that role, Sam worked extensively work with the aging population and those with disabilities. Throughout his casework, Sam had the opportunity to coordinate support and resources and advocate for his clients’ well- being. Sam’s goal is to provide a safe space for individuals to share about their thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and experiences. Sam uses a person-centered approach and focuses on the individual needs of each client. Sam incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) during therapy to help clients challenge unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen relationships, change unwanted behaviors, and enhance overall feelings of wellness.
